My Story
Meet our new Operations Assistant Austin Farr! Austin was born on September 11, 2005 in Sheridan, Wyoming and recently graduated from Sheridan High School. During Junior year spring semester, he applied for the high school internship program earning the opportunity to work for Sheridan Pilots 307 flight school Senior year.
In looking to find summer employment, Austin inquired about a position at the Sheridan County Airport but due to FAA regulations, his young age didn’t meet the necessary requirements as regulated by the FAA. Eager to be involved with aviation, he decided to schedule a discovery flight with Sheridan Pilots 307 and took his initial flight with Bryan Belus on June 14th, Flag Day.
From that day forward, Austin has spent most of his free time learning, observing, studying, flying, and logging hours with Bryan and other members of the SP307 family. Austin completed his solo flight on October 31st, 2023 passed his written exam on February 5th, 2024 and just earned his Private Pilot's License on Thursday, June 27th!
When Austin isn’t helping or assisting fellow aviators at the hangar, he enjoys spending time in the Big Horn Mountains on his dirt bike in the summer/fall or in the winter hitting the slopes on his snowboard. When outside of an airplane, Austin can be found in the backyard flying his multiple remote control airplanes, practicing maneuvers! His main career goal is to one day be an airline pilot.

As of June 1st, Austin is a full-time employee at the flight school taking over for Elly Cutforth. We are really fortunate to have Austin's passion and hard work ethic on our crew! We plan to help him earn his Instrument Rating and Commercial License while he attends Sheridan College starting Fall 2024!
