Ian was born in Laramie Wyoming and moved to Sheridan Wy in 2009 to attend Sheridan College studying Agriculture where after he made the decision to stay in Sheridan.

 

Ian has worked for a variety of industries and spent the last 10 years in manufacturing.  He has always had an interest in learning to fly and in 2020 he had reached out to another local pilot Don Parrot through work, and he recommended giving JT Grainger a call with SP307.  

 

Late summer 2020 he had his first discovery flight and from that point on the hook was set.  Since then, he has continued to pursue his private license but has also discovered a larger passion then imagined in the General Aviation industry as a whole.  Since his discovery flight he has jumped into many opportunities to learn more about GA, aircraft mechanics, and joining the Sheridan Pilots Association.  

 

When you don’t see Ian at the airport learning and lending a hand wherever he can, you can find him coaching Sheridan County 4H Shooting Sports, assisting with the youth livestock sale at the county fair, or back on the family ranch his father grew up on currently ran by his uncle and cousin.   

 

Ian’s passion for aviation continues to grow as he plans to continue pursuing his private pilot’s license with a large interest in rotor and fixed wing as well as continue to learn as much as he can about aircraft mechanics, service, and GA as whole.
